В статье анализируется сущность и значение добросовестности как этической категории и как гражданско-правового принципа, выявляются этапы общественного развития, объясняющие значение и потребность в законодательном закреплении принципа добросовестности, проанализировано соотношение принципов добросовестности и свободы договора.

The article analyzes the essence and importance of the good faith as an ethical category and as a civil law principle. It reveals stages of social development, explaining the importance and need for legislative consolidation of the principle of good faith and analyzes the relationship of the principles of good faith and freedom of contract.
